The project aimed to incorporate a state-of-the-art BBQ setup, a sophisticated travertine patio, and a beautiful arbor to enhance their outdoor space’s aesthetic appeal and usability.

The family had clear objectives for their backyard transformation. They desired an entertainment space for hosting gatherings and family cookouts, an aesthetic appeal through a travertine patio that exudes luxury and blends seamlessly with the natural surroundings, and shade and comfort through an arbor that provides shade, adds architectural interest, and creates a cozy space for relaxation.

The initial step involved a thorough site assessment to understand the space, identify potential challenges, and align the design with the client’s vision. Key considerations included optimal placement of the BBQ station, patio, and arbor, ensuring the arbor provides adequate shade during peak sunlight hours and proper planning for water drainage to prevent pooling on the patio. After understanding the client’s requirements, a comprehensive design proposal was developed by our team, featuring a custom-built BBQ station with high-end appliances and ample counter space, a travertine patio designed with a blend of warm and neutral tones to make a welcoming ambiance, and an elegant arbor constructed from weather-resistant materials, ensuring durability and longevity.

The BBQ station was the centerpiece of this project, featuring high-end appliances such as a top-of-the-line grill, side burners, a refrigerator, granite countertops for food preparation and serving, and cabinets and drawers to keep utensils and supplies organized. Our installation team ensured all appliances were installed to manufacturer specifications, with proper ventilation and safety measures in place.

Travertine was chosen for its durability, natural beauty, and ability to remain cool underfoot, even in the Texas heat. The installation process included excavation and leveling of the ground, followed by installing a gravel and sand base to ensure stability. Our members carefully placed the travertine pavers in a pattern that complemented the overall design, with precise cutting to fit around edges and obstacles. Then, a high-quality sealant was applied to protect the stone from stains and weathering.

The arbor was designed to provide shade and enhance the backyard’s aesthetic appeal. The key features included the use of cedar wood, which provides both beauty and durability due to its natural resistance to both rot and insects; a lattice roof for partial shade and climbing plants, which creates a lush, green canopy over time; secure anchoring to withstand wind and weather; and precise carpentry to ensure a flawless finish (pictures below).

The completed project was a resounding success, exceeding the client’s expectations and providing a stunning outdoor space that combines functionality with luxury. The BBQ station became a focal point for family gatherings, offering a professional-grade cooking experience. The arbor provided a comfortable, shaded area perfect for relaxation, dining, and enjoying the outdoors.
